Amanda Knauer
Amanda Knauer is known for her inclusive leadership style, grounded in care, determination, and genuine concern for her team. She grew up with a connection to the company through her father and uncle, who both built careers here before her.
Her own Allan Myers journey began as a high school intern in the Pennsylvania shop more than 20 years ago before joining the company full-time as a laborer. Through a combination of hands-on learning, determination, and a desire to understand every aspect of the business, Amanda advanced through roles in fleet management, shop manager, and shop equipment engineer, before becoming the first female Equipment Manager in the company.
She has fostered a collaborative environment where mechanics feel comfortable communicating openly, sharing ideas, and raising concerns. Her influence also extends beyond her day-to-day role.
A passionate advocate for safety, Amanda helped lead a cultural transformation leading to an injury-free and incident-free Pennsylvania shop. Since joining the Pennsylvania Safety Leadership Team, she has helped strengthen engagement in safety conversations and encourage active participation from leaders and crews alike. Through her leadership, she continues to build a culture centered on teamwork, trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Amanda is equally passionate about helping others succeed. She believes one of the most rewarding aspects of her role is watching employees grow and reach their full potential.
