For the third year in a row in 2026, Allan Myers has been recognized with the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA) Contractor Safety Award in the Greater Than 750,000 Man Hours category. This acknowledgment highlights the company’s continued commitment to protecting employees and the traveling public.
Ben Bushey, General Manager, accepted the award at the recent VTCA Annual Meeting. The program honors contractors who demonstrate excellence in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, with awards based on total hours worked.
While the recognition reinforces Allan Myers’ strong safety culture, another moment at the annual meeting marked a milestone for the industry. Jessica Colbert, Director of Project Risk, was named Vice President of the VTCA Executive Council for the upcoming year. Jessica is the first woman to hold an executive role in the organization’s history.
As VTCA approaches its 100th anniversary in 2027, Jessica’s appointment marks a significant milestone for the organization and acknowledges the strength of her leadership.
